About The Nutfield Sessions

The idea for the Nutfield Sessions started when two Londonderry neighbors, Greg Decotau
and Larry Casey, were talking about how great it would be to get some musician friends
together for a backyard jam session. It being the dead of winter - and not being able to curb
their enthusiasm (or wait for "ice-out") - Greg and Larry started looking around for a place to
hold a get together.

They rented a hall, invited some friends, and quickly discovered that there was a lot of
interest in having a regular opportunity for people to gather for an informal afternoon of
acoustic music.

While there are a number of local venues where musicians can
perform at "Open Mics", these are often held at commercial
establishments - with everything that implies. Greg and Larry
wanted to create an environment where the focus was on the music
    - and on the camaraderie between the players and audience.

In addition to being an accomplished performer and luthier (guitar
builder), Greg has a lot of experience in running "Open Mic"
sessions. He runs a monthly event at Borders in Nashua, and has
run sessions at The Muse in Londonderry, and the Simple Gifts
Coffee House - also in Nashua. So, the Nutfield Sessions really
benefit from his experience, and passion for supporting musicians of
all skill levels. His great PA systems helps, too!
